Latinas Rising Up in HR

Anthology of stories curated by my sister, Priscilla Guasso.

Anthology of stories curated by my sister, Priscilla Guasso.

This project is one that is so dear to me because my SISTER is the heart and grit behind it all. For awhile, she has dreamed of creating a way to highlight latinas in the Human Resources profession. She has such a desire to come alongside aspiring and current professional latina HR women that do not see themselves represented in the field. This is her way to jumpstart that dream.

What is so beautiful about this book is that it is not just about a career. It is much more than that. I had the pleasure of joining the Fig Factor publishing team in editing and proofreading the manuscript as well as coach my sister in formulating her story. I got a front row seat and it was an honor to have a small hand in the production of this piece. The women in this book courageously open up their hearts so we can learn from their LIFE experiences. Themes of loss, family, endurance, faith, education, cultural identity, and diversity are all discussed with boldness.

Latinas Rising Up In HR created by Priscilla Guasso proudly showcases inspirational stories of aspiring human resources professionals who overcame obstacles and defied statistics to achieve their dreams in corporate America, non-profit and as entrepreneurs. Their experiences answer the question, “Why aren’t there more Latinas in executive leadership?” and show how determination, grit, and finding the right mentors can pave the way to opportunity for anyone of any background. Be inspired by their personal wisdom in the Reflect and Rise micro-mentoring moments at the end of each chapter, and you too can continue to rise to your dreams.

This is a book for the HR professional, the aspiring college student, white men and women looking for ways to support their colleagues of color, and the latina hoping to find a community in the corporate world. It has been featured in Yahoo Finance and countless HR sponsors have come alongside the to advance the movement. Half the proceeds of all sales go toward a student scholarship and a PD scholarship.

Be sure to support these amazing scholarships that will help future latina HR professionals achieve their dreams by purchasing a book here.
